On a Warm-ish Day in Winter…

After a hot, dry summer, I’ve been thankful for all the rain we had in November.

But, man! Did it rain A LOT! I’m still thankful for the rain but now I’m also thankful for any sunny days we’ve had.

Earlier this year, Dad and Robert cut down a couple of dead pine trees. The downed trees have been out in the field, waiting for someone to start picking up the cones, branches, and limbs. So, on a recent Friday, that’s what the kids and I worked on.

After loading the bucket on the tractor with as much wood as it could hold, we took it down to our house and used it to build a bonfire pile.

The kids made a game out of the whole thing and ended up working pretty hard. It was good way for them to get out some of the pent-up energy that had been building up on the rainy days. And feeling the sun on our faces was good for us all.
